The Corporate Management Training Program has been designed for graduates with the great potential to become a part of our top management team and to progress rapidly within our company.
Program Overview:
The program is designed to accommodate each individual's training needs, previous work experience, personal objectives or career aspirations and the company's professional standards of performance. Participants complete projects, converse with a Hyatt mentor, and interact with employees in every department. Being a part of this program builds relationships, cultivates camaraderie and prepares participants to be successful; a true advantage in a future career with Hyatt.
The pace of the program, which sets a challenging schedule for each Trainee, is based on two phases. The first is exposure in various departments of the hotel, typically through a rotation and then an intensive period of training focusing on the area of concentration or agreed interest. Each phase includes both hands-on practical experience as well as opportunities for the Trainee to develop people management skills in a variety of learning environments.
Duration:
The length of the program will depend on the concentration and each individual's training needs. Programs vary in length from 5 to 16 months.
Options:
Management training is offered in a variety of disciplines and may vary slightly by country as described in the specific job descriptions of the available internship postings. Opportunities may be available in: Accounting/Financial Services, Catering/Convention Services, Culinary, Facility Management/Engineering, Human Resources, Rooms Operations, Food & Beverage Operations, Sales, and Spa Management.
Location or placement into a management training program is determined by your personal interest and location availability. Hyatt offers assistance with getting settled into new surroundings and also provides temporary accommodations at the training hotel while seeking permanent living accommodations.
Selection Criteria or Qualifications:
- This program is open to graduates who have a degree in hotel management, business management or equivalent. Graduates with degrees in other disciplines may be considered for this program although; adjustments in program length may be needed to insure a readiness for entry level management.
- Fluency of the English language is required. Additional languages may be required depending on country of placement.
- All applicants must have industry related work or practical experience.
- One must have demonstrated leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities or organizations.
- Work authorization for the country in which you are applying will be required. Many participating hotels will require a continuous form of work authorization.
In addition, every encouragement is given to accepting local, internal candidates who have excellent long term potential within the company and who meet the other selection criteria and qualifications.
Compensation, benefits and work permits will vary by country of placement and variations to the corporate training program may be required and communicated at the time of consideration.

U.S. Management Development Program (J1 visa)
Hyatt's International Management Development Program is a 12 month U.S. training experience for graduated students with degrees in hospitality. This program exposes participants to supervisory training while in an hourly capacity. The objective is to learn supervisory expectations, skills and exposure to management training for individuals seeking a career in hospitality. The program provides a rotation through all functions of the hotel and if capable one may fulfill a supervisory position during the training. This program is designed for International students studying internationally, with a minimum of 6 months of hospitality expereinece who are seeking U.S. work experience. This offer of training requires a J1 training visa. Hyatt only accepts online applications for this program during the fall and spring season. If you attend a partner school, applications must be submitted at least five days prior to Hyatt's visit to your campus. While on campus Hyatt will offer an information session to explain opportunities and discuss the culture at Hyatt.
